FIFA World Cup draw: All you need to know

All is set for the FIFA World Cup draw following qualification of all 32 teams after the play-offs.

However, a lot is to be decided before the action gets under way on June 14.

Where is the draw?

Football dignitaries and the international media will converge on the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Friday, for the anticipated draw.

The ceremony is due to commence at 15:00 GMT, with a host of football icons in the world. The event will also be televised across the world, with FIFA following closely with a live blog.

How is the Draw format?

All qualified 32 teams are split into four pots, with Russia and the highest ranked nations in pot one, while the lowest ranked teams in pot four.

Each group is expected to comprise of one team from each pot, with restriction in terms of teams from the same confederations.

A group would comprise of a maximum of two European nations, while there may be only a single country from each of the confederations.

Former England forward, Gary Lineker and Russian Broadcast Journalist, Maria Komandnaya will be presenters, while trophy bearers Mirolsav Klose, Laurent Blanc, Fabio cannavaro, Diego Forlan and Cafu along other football icons will be assisting in the draw.

Teams in the draw

The draw line-up is as follows:

Pot 1: Russia, Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, France.

Pot 2: Spain, Peru, Switzerland, England, Columbia, Mexico, Uruguay, Croatia.

Pot 3: Denmark, Iceland, Costa Rica, Sweden, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Iran.

Pot 4: Sebia, Nigeria, Australia, Japan, Morocco, Panama, South Korea, Saudi Arabia.

The World Cup which commences on June 14 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow will see host Russia take on a team from Pot two.

The group stage will run for two weeks, with the knockout (round of 16) begining from June 30.

The final match will take place on July 15, at the Luzhniki Stadium where it all started.
