Chelsea set for payback against Arsenal

Chelsea seeks to increase four winning streak when they take on arch rivals Arsenal on Sunday at the Stanford Bridge.

The Gunners have not won a single game at the Stanford Bridge since 2011 but defeated Chelsea two goals to one at the Community Shield in Wembley.

Arsenal has six points from four matches losing bitterly to Liverpool 4-0 before the break.

Chelsea’s Antonio Conte would be looking to payback the defeat suffered in the Community Shield irrespective of the present situation with Arsene Wenger.

‘’I care nothing about Arsenal’s situation, I care about Chelsea’s’’,

Conte said in a pre-match conference.

He further added that, ‘’when we talk about it we are unlucky. They will solve their problem, we will solve ours’’.

While commenting on Sunday’s encounter, Conte said

‘’they are a big rival, if you see their squad, they have a lot of top players. I don’t understand why they can’t fight for the title, they lost only one player but kept all the rest.’’

‘’They have many top players.’’

Both teams however had good outings in UEFA competitions with Arsenal beating Cologne 3-1 in the Europa League, while Chelsea thrashed Qarabag FK 6-0 in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, with Chelsea having more days to rest, Antonio Conte insists that will not be an advantage when they play the Gunners.

‘’I have watched the game, Wenger rotated a lot of players and were rested for the game against us, it is not an advantage.’’

He added that,

‘’Arsenal is one of the six top teams in England and I think they have a really good squad to fight for something important, the title for sure. This is a massive game when you play against Arsenal.’’

‘’The same against City, United, Liverpool, Spurs. There are six top teams and when you play, it is a massive game. We have to fight and play against a rival’’.

The match is scheduled for Sunday and kicks off at 1:30pm.
