Chelsea falls prey as Crystal Palace gets first EPL win

Crystal Palace finally got their first win in the English Premier League after losing their first seven matches this season with an unfamiliar prey, Chelsea.

Yohan Cabaye had put the hosts in front from a deflected shot before Tiemoue Babayoko put the blues level.

Chelsea got the bite from the Eagles in the 45th minute as Wilfred Zaha scored a late minute first half goal to seal the game at the Selhurst Park.

The loss was Chelsea’s third and second in a row this season after going down by one goal at Stanford Bridge to leaders Manchester City before the international break.

“Today was a difficult game for us. Our start was poor. We had to start with more personality.

“Despite this we have to find the will to fight. This season we have to put 150% because it will be difficult.

“We conceded goals at bad times which made it very difficult for us. Palace grew in confidence.

“I don’t like to lose, Imagine when you lose two games in a row. For sure, my soul today is bad.

“It will be very difficult for me to sleep. But I think we must have the same sensation, me and my players, to change things in the next game and be positive,” Conte said after the match.

However the Italian has said there is no reason to throw blames but rather he would proffer a solution to the current woes befalling Chelsea.

Conte also ruled out Victor Moses from next week’s Champions League encounter against Italian side, AS Roma due to a hamstring injury.

“Moses is definitely out of the Roma game. I’m not sure if it is a serious injury yet.

“It was hard to start without Morata and Kante today and then lose Moses to injury in the first half,” he added.

The result saw Chelsea drop one spot downwards to fifth on the table as Watford defeated Arsenal to move fourth on the table.

However, Crystal Palace remains bottom in the table with just three points from eight matches.
