With only one match left in the Nigerian Professional Football League, current leaders Plateau United closely chased by MFM United still has much to play for. Plateau United will be crowned champions for the first time if they defeat last season’s champions Rangers on the final match day in Jos, Plateau State.
Second place MFM, currently one point behind leaders Plateau United, have a difficult task ahead as they visit El Kanemi warriors in Maiduguri.
With the current standing, MFM must win El Kanemi warriors and hope Rangers do them a favour by defeating Plateau United at home. A win for Plateau United would be enough to crown them champions.
In the bottom of the table already relegated Remo Stars and Gombe United would be expecting two more teams to join them in relegation. Abia Warriors, Shooting Stars, Wikki Tourists and ABS are still not safe as any could join the already relegated teams.
The current NPFL season has been described as being interesting and exciting especially as the season comes to an end.
