Department of State Security has detained one Adamu Muhammed for 45 days following the permission granted by the Federal High court in Abuja.
Adamu is being investigated for acts of terrorism allegedly done by divulging sensitive information to members of Boko Haram.
Following an ex parte application filed by the DSS to remand the suspect in prison for 90 says pending the conclusion of the investigation, Justice B.O. Quadri reduced the period to 45 days saying that the law only allows a period of two months within which a suspect could be detained with investigation ongoing.
Justice B.O. Quadri however added that the period and number of days could be reviewed when the court saw it necessary.
Counsel to the DSS, Mr. O.J. Odu, who moved the application, told the court it was in accordance with Section 27 (1) of the Terrorism Prevention Act.
