Aba Made Products now in USA

Made-in-Aba products continue to gain global recognition as Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu displayed and showcased the quality during a convention of Abia State National Association, USA and North America, (ASNA-NA), held in New York, USA.

The event saw several Aba products on display among designers like Chumar and models were also seen adorning the products on walkway.

The event, which lasted for two days, also saw new delegates being elected and sworn in to run the association for the next four years.

Special Assistant to the Governor on Diaspora Matters, Mr. John Ndubisi, who was at the event, said the outfits that were displayed have been sold out and orders have been placed for new ones adding that the products will soon be competing in the international market.

In May, the Governor had promised that the products will have marketing outlets in countries abroad like USA, Japan, China, Egypt to boost its sales and recognition.

Announcing the plan at a sensitization programme, Director-General of Okezuo Abia Organization, Elder John Nwangborogwu said one of the Governor’s ambitions is to put ‘made in Aba’ Products on the global map.

“In this time of recession, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is unrelenting in finding alternative means of increasing the State’s Internally Generated Revenue, of which he has discovered the socio-economic potentiality of Aba and is ever determined to explore it to its fullest,” he noted.

The Governor’s activeness in the promotion of Aba products has attracted the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who was present at the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the State.

Ikpeazu have also invited Chinese investors to explore opportunities of the State’s leather and garment production assuring them of safety and economic vibrance.
