Anthony Joshua to defend titles against Kubrat Pulev

Nigerian born British boxer, Anthony Joshua, will have his IBF, WBA and IBO Heavyweight titles on the line when the faces Kubrat Pulev on Saturday, October 28.

Fans hope to see a repeat of Joshua’s performance against former Heavyweight Champion, Wladimir Klitschko, where he won the Veteran Boxer via knockout in the 11th round.

Pulev is IBF’s mandatory challenger to Anthony Joshua. The 36 years Old Bulgarian has lost just once in his 26 fight career, losing only to Wladimir Klitschko via knockout in the fifth round in a bout in 2014, giving Klitschko his 53rd and last win before retirement.

The Bulgarian nicknamed ‘The Cobra’ beat Britain’s Dereck Chisora to set up a fight with Joshua. Pulev represented Bulgaria in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where he was beaten in his first match but won the European championship in the same year.

According to fans, Anthony Joshua has an edge as Pulev is less defensive, putting both hands low, which exposes him to blows in the head. Klitschko exploited the flaw which saw him floored, three times in the first three rounds before the finishing left hook in the fifth round.

Against Joshua, the cobra cannot afford to drop hands to leave himself exposed as AJ has won all 19 fights, winning by knockout in all bouts.

Meanwhile, tickets to the match have already been sold out with resale as high as £2000.
