SAFA boss denies raping Jennifer Ferguson, Danny is lying, Jennifer insists

President of the South Africa Football Association (SAFA), Danny Jordaan, has denied raping singer and former Member of Parliament Jennifer Ferguson over 20 years ago.

Jennifer Ferguson claims she was raped by Mr Jordan at a hotel room in Port Elizabeth about 24 years ago.

“I was raped in a hotel room by Danny Jordaan. There is no question about what happened and if he wants to play on the nuances of that to imply in any way that it was consensual, then he is lying.”

She also affirmed that other women who claim to have also been raped by the SAFA boss has emerged.

“We have a second woman with a protected identity. Now we have a third woman with a protected identity who came forward with a statement and it was on the heels of this statement.

Ferguson who served as a Member of Parliament from 1994-1997 and currently lives her husband in Sweden has said she wants prominent South African cleric Paul Verryn to oversee “mediation” between her and Mr Jordaan.

However, Jordaan through his lawyer, Mamodupi Mohlala-Mulaudzi, has rejected mediation as it could be perceived as a “cover up”. She added that her client was innocent and that the allegations of Ferguson could “only be ventilated in a court of law, where the rights of all parties were protected”.

‘‘Dr Jordaan has, however, after careful consideration, decided to assert his innocence. In this case there were two opposing versions that should not be resolved in the media or anywhere else that attempted to substitute for a court of law”.

Danny Jordaan is an eminent member of the ANC and was widely commended for pulling through South Africa’s 2010 World Cup bid which saw the nation as the first African Nation to host the finals.

He was also Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, and Port Elizabeth before the opposition took over control in 2016.

Mr Jordaan and the South African Government were also investigated by the U. S Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for allegedly paying the sum of $10 million as bribe to host the 2010 World Cup, of which they denied.
