Pep Guardiola knows next Bayern coach

Pep Guardiola knows Carlo Ancelotti’s successor to manage the affairs of Bayern Munich, according to the President of Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeness.

Bayern Munich sacked Coach Carlo Ancelotti last week after a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League group stage game in Paris.

Interim coach and former assistant to Carlo Ancelotti, Willy Sagnol oversaw a devastating 2-2 draw away to Hertha Berlin at the weekend.

Guardiola, who spent three successful years at the Allianz Arena before leaving to take charge of Manchester City last year, paid a visit to Bayern President Uli Hoeness in Munich on Tuesday.

Hoeness spoke to the media afterwards saying that the City boss is pleased by Bayern Munich preferred choice to succeed Ancelotti, although he did not reveal the identity of the Italian’s replacement.

According to him

“He promised that he would come to Oktoberfest every year. It was a meeting between friends, but of course we have also spoken about professional matters. I told him who we were going to recruit in the next few days and he was satisfied.”

Managers including former Borussia Dortmund coach, Thomas Tuchel, former Manchester United coach, Louis van Gaal, Julian Nageksmann of Hoffenheim and former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique have all been linked to manage the club on a permanent basis with rumours that Enrique is set to meet Bayern Munich owners on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Christoph Metzelder a former Germany International has said that Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp is a ready-made candidate for the Bayern Munich job.

The former Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund defender is backing Liverpool boss Klopp, who guided Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles during his time at Signal Iduna Park, to take the job.

“He is a top man-manager and could make the complex power relationship work wonderfully.”

“Nagelsmann is an outstanding coach but Bayern Munich is, of course, a different size. From my point of view, Jurgen Klopp would be ready,”

he concluded.
