NFL “#takeaknee” protest intensifies

24 hours of President Trump’s latest speech on Twitter wherein he insisted that its important players stand during the National Anthem, NFL players intensified their campaign as they took to their knee with others raising a fist and locking arms to make their statements.

Marshawn Lynch of the Oakland Raiders had the hardest word of the day arriving the game in Denver in a T-shirt with the word “Everybody vs Trump.”

No fewer than 30 players of the San Francisco 49ers, who have not featured in a match since September, took a knee during the anthem with their teammates standing behind them with a hand on the shoulders of the kneeling players.

The Los Angeles Rams linked arms, with the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills standing and taking a knee in protest.

The New Orleans Saints collectively took a knee and so did the Miami Dolphins before their game on Sunday in London.

On Saturday, President Trump in a tweet had said

“Very important that NFL players STAND tomorrow, and always, for the playing of our National Anthem. Respect our flag and our country!”

Trump has refused to let the issue go as he continues his call on club owners and fans to punish players involved in the protest. He also continues to re-tweet and make posts urging players to stand for the National Anthem.
