Manchester United’s tight fixtures worries Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has express concerns over the tight fixtures of his team and the short resting time for the players ahead of major encounter with top teams.

Manchester United enjoyed a flawless victory over CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League with a 4-1 win over the home side.

New signee, Romelu Lukaku increased his tally to ten goals in nine matches, with Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan adding to earn United a resounding victory.

Manchester United currently on a six match winning streak and level on point with rival Manchester City next play struggling Crystal Palace who are yet to get a point and a goal.

However, Mourinho has shown concerned with the fixtures which leave them with shorter resting time for his players as against rival teams.

“For the team, confidence is good because six points in two matches in the champions League puts us in a good position and for the players individually it is also good because we had very good performances.

“Smalling and Lindelof had very good performances, Herera has not started a match in a long time and had good performance, so did Anthony Martial and I am speaking about the players who are not starting matches.

“The Premier League is another story. We play Saturday three o’clock against a fresh team and we have to play after this match.

“We have to keep our feet on the ground, stay humble and follow our direction because we are having a very good start to the season.

“We have started competitions strong in August and September and now have just one more game, a difficult one.”

Manchester United next host Crystal Palace at the Old Trafford.
