President Donald Trump has come under attack, from sports fans and some citizens for dragging, Sprinter Usain Bolt into the on-going #takeaknee protest controversy.
Trump hit at the NFL players involved in the protest by posting a video of Usain Bolt cutting off an interview for the U.S. National Anthem.
“Even Usain Bolt from Jamaica, one of the greatest runners and athletes of all time, showed RESPECT for our National Anthem.” he wrote.
This however did not go down with a lot of fans as they released torrent of comment on President Trump with some of them telling him to leave Bolt out of the issue.
Former quarterback for the 49ers, Colin Kaepernick, took a knee during the U.S. National Anthem protesting police brutality against the Blacks and minorities.
Trump’s statement in Alabama and on Twitter when he addressed the players as “sons of bitches” further aggravated the issue as more than 200 players took to their knees.
The protest gained momentum as it received support from owners of various clubs in the NFL.
Democratic Representative, Sheila Jackson Lee, from Texas, on Monday took a knee on House Floor in support of NFL players.
Sheila Lee in her speech on House Floor went hard on President Trump.
“This is racism. You cannot deny it, you cannot run for it and I knee in honour of them,” she said while going down on her knee. “I knee in honour of First Amendment. I knee because the flag is a symbol for freedom. I knee because I am going to stand against racism.
I knee because I will stand with those young men and I’ll stand with our soldiers and I’ll stand with America, because I knee.” She said.
