Victor Perez, Music mixer and producer, popularly known as “VC Perez”, on Saturday while speaking in an interview, said the increase of promiscuity in Nigeria was a result of most uncensored broadcast of nude scenes by the Media.
The Producer further said that the relevant authorities were not strict enough, in the regulation of Media content.
VC Perez, added that the Media organization played a major role in the building or destroying of the society. He noted that the Media should not fail to use its platforms to instill moral values in citizens.
“The increase in sexual activities can be linked to what people watch on their television screens and other electronic devices.
“In my candid opinion, media organizations have aided the craving for such content by following foreign trends; to air movies and music videos with naked men and women,’’ he said.
He pointed out that the striving of promiscuity was as a result of the media preferring to broadcast obscene programs that got viewers glued to their television sets.
“Unfortunately, nudity, pornography and sexual stimulating programs seem to have more audience; so such programs usually featured in the TV broadcast,’’ he said.
Perez emphasized the role music videos played in promoting fake lifestyles, leading some youths to be involved in illegal activities just to live the kind of life they see on TV.
He implored parents and guardians to play their part in disciplining their children and to reduce the time spent on Social media.
