I will place a curse on those linking me with IPOB – Pete Edochie

Nollywood Actor Pete Edochie, on Monday September 12, refuted the rumour that he is in support of the call by IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra) that the Anambra State Governorship Election be boycotted.

He also added that he has been silent over the issue for some time. Edochie said he got to know that the message linking him to IPOB originated from a particular Phone number which he gave as 08034072277.

The Nollywood actor, released a statement, threatening to place curse on those linking him to IPOB boycott agitation.

“I just returned from Port-Harcourt yesterday and my attention has been drawn to a publication on Whatsapp allegedly credited to me in respect of IPOB and the call to boycott elections in Anambra State. A lot of nonsense has been ascribed to me in the past and i have maintained Peace. now i am angry” He said

“Let me warn, I don’t want to place a curse on anybody, but those who know me will tell you that if i curse it comes to pass, i am 70 years old”

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is a secessionist group operating in the South East and few parts of the South South of Nigeria. Pete Edochie is of Igbo extraction, Igbo being the dominant tribe in the South East. While a reasonable number of Igbos see the creation of a new nation for Igbos as solution to the many problems of Nigeria, most Igbos are not in support of the methodology of IPOB which has threatened war on the Nigerian government and resulted to confrontational tribal tantrum in pushing its case.
