A suspected trainer of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been arrested by the Police in Anambra.
Ebeje Nnamdi, a 26 year old alleged deserter of the Nigerian Army, was arrested alongside three other persons for their alleged involvement in armed robbery in Iyi Oji axis of Anambra State.
The State Police Commissioner Garba Umar, while presenting the suspects at the Police Headquarters, said 336 rounds of 7.22x39mm AK 47 ammunition were recovered from the alleged IPOB members and trainer.
Also recovered were three empty AK 47 rifles with magazines, one locally made double barrel pistol with live cartridges, IPOB flags and wears as well as charms and ATM cards.
Nnamdi is said to be a member of a six man gang robbing and killing policemen various points and robberies at various filling stations in Onitsha. Among those arrested along with the alleged IPOB trainer was Onyebuchi Peter Ali and Ugwuokpe Nnaemeka.
Garba Umar said their case is still under investigation and they will be charged to court on completion of the investigations.
