Ikechukwu Ezenwa to start as Nigeria takes on Cameroon

Ahead of the Russia 2018 qualifier match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa would be on the start up for the Super Eagles.

This was made known in a Press Conference held on Wednesday in Uyo, Venue for the match. Ikechukwu Ezenwa was selected by Rohr on Wednesday.

Ikechukwu, who captained the home based Super Eagles to qualify for the CAF Africa Nations Championship, has promised to up his game and prevent the Cameroonians from scoring in the crucial match.

In a related development, South Africa based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has been ruled out of the lineup due to an injury. He is to be replaced with Plateau United goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye.

Gernot Rohr has had challenges choosing goalkeepers following the retirement of Vincent Enyeama and the health of Carl Ikeme who is battling Leukemia.

The match is scheduled to commence by 5 p.m on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
