Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari would be back today. This is after he had been away from the country for medical vacation, which has lasted over 100 days, in the United Kingdom.
Femi also noted that the President is expected to address the country in a national broadcast by 7am on Monday.
President Muhammadu Buhari had yesterday received the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in London.
Adeboye is the first Nigerian cleric to visit Buhari since his medical vacation in London. Meanwhile, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, paid him a similar visit two days back.
President Buhari had earlier received delegation from the All Progressive Congress (APC) and that of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), as well as his media team led by Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, assuring them that he was merely awaiting his doctors orders to return to the country.
In an interview with ETN24, the National Association of Nigerian Students’ President, Comrade Haruna Kadiri stated that since President Muhammadu Buhari traveled to London on medical vacation, and handed over power constitutionally to his Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who became the Acting President, there had been no vacuum and the Acting President was working well.
