President Buhari condemns Anambra Church attack

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the attack on St. Phillip Catholic Church at Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State by unidentified gunmen describing it as an appalling crime against humanity and unspeakable sacrilege.

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, President Muhammadu Buhari said there is no justification for the ignominious act.

Also, Governor Willie Obiano has given assurance that the gunmen would be fished out and brought to book. He also expressed great shock at the incident describing it as a dastardly act.

A statement by the Priest says an unidentified gunman stormed the church and shot at a man whose name was given as Akunwafor Ikegwuonwu and then after opened fire at the congregation of worshipers.

Speaker of the House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara, as well as the APC has also condemned the attack.
